For some time now the trend has been not to store critical business data locally on each server without consolidating this into a larger storage solution. Data is something that almost always grows with time, and therefore, it is very important to consider the scalability of the generation of storage solutions.

Below are three different standardized storage solutions Ipeer offers and has extensive experience in:

SAN

A storage area network or so-called SAN, is a dedicated storage solution that transfers data between servers and the solution through a wholly own separate network such as Fibre Channel or iSCSI. A major advantage of SAN is its ability to quickly move large blocks of data that can be important for database, imaging, and transaction solutions.

NAS

A Network-attached storage so-called NAS, is a network-based storage solution. The advantage of a NAS is that the solution need not be placed near the server where the data is to be stored, but it is important that good connectivity exists as this enables rapid data transfer and storage.

DAS

A Direct-attached storage so-called DAS, is a storage solution that directly connects to one or more servers and is designed for server environments consisting of a few servers. DAS is seen as a very good and cost-effective solution for a small number of servers. However, one should consider that the scalability is not the same as with NAS and SAN.

Ipeer also offers the possibility of offsite backup where data is stored in a secondary data center that is located far from the primary data center. Data Centers are connected via dedicated fiber connections.
